The short version. Zendaily is a contemplative companion, not a therapist and not an emergency service. It is free to use. What you write stays on your device. Be kind to yourself, and if you are in danger, call real people.
1. Accepting these terms
By using Zendaily you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app. You must be at least 13 years old.
2. What Zendaily offers
A conversation with a contemplative companion, guided sessions, and a notebook that keeps track of your own practice. The whole app works without an account, and without payment.
The companion's answers are produced by a language model. They can be wrong, incomplete, or simply unhelpful. Treat them as one perspective among others, not as instruction.
3. What Zendaily is not
This section matters more than the rest.
- Not medical or psychological care. Zendaily does not diagnose, does not treat, and gives no advice about medication or therapy. It is not a substitute for a doctor, a psychologist or a psychiatrist.
- Not an emergency service. If you are in danger, or thinking of harming yourself, contact emergency services or a crisis line in your country, or reach out to someone you trust. The app will say the same thing, and it is right.
- Not a religious authority. The companion is not the Buddha and not any real teacher. It represents no institution and speaks for no tradition.
- Not a measure of your worth. The practice log counts minutes. It is not a score, and missing days means nothing about you.
4. Your responsibilities
- Use the app lawfully, and not to harm anyone.
- Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
- If you create an account, keep your password to yourself.
- Do not rely on Zendaily for decisions that need a professional — health, legal or financial.
5. Your content
What you write remains yours. We claim no ownership over it. It is stored on your device; see the app privacy policy for the detail of what is transmitted and when.
6. Content in the app
The guided sessions and the companion's voice are original works. The scriptural passages the companion may quote are drawn from public-domain translations. The on-device voice uses Pocket TTS by Kyutai, licensed CC-BY-4.0.
7. Availability
Zendaily is provided as it is, without any guarantee of availability. The service may be interrupted, changed or discontinued. Sessions, the notebook and the on-device voice keep working offline; the companion's answers need a connection.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of Zendaily. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including in cases of gross negligence, or harm to life and health.
9. Ending use
You may stop at any time: delete your account from Settings, erase your notebook from the Notebook screen, and uninstall the app. Nothing is kept on our side that you have not chosen to create.
10. Applicable law
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep the protections of your country of residence.
11. Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current text.
